Some time ago, the Democrat Party realized they could no longer win elections by convincing voters that their policies made more sense than Republican policies. After all, Republican policies were about growing the economy by reducing the burden of taxation and reinforcing the military to combat evil forces throughout the world intent upon overpowering America’s freedom.
Dems Were Boxed In
Dems couldn’t very well win by outdoing what obviously made common sense and was beneficial to most Americans. So they decided to circumvent American values and take a page from the world’s tyrannies by appealing to two very different American constituencies: 1) those who wanted to be taken care of by the government, and 2) those who believed they were smarter than the average Americans and believed they could improve society by giving things to people who wanted to be taken care of by government.
Giving things to others placated the second group’s feelings of guilt for being well-educated and well off. It made them feel good.
Playing Santa Is Not Enough
But Dems knew just playing Santa Claus would not convince enough people to vote for them. They realized they had to manufacture crises—e.g., climate change, systemic racism, white supremacy, murderous police, right-wing fascists–crises that would make people believe they were voting against evil forces in our society.
They came up with terms that made them seem like the good guys–“social justice,” for example. What exactly is social justice? The dictionary states it means individuality gives way to redistributing wealth to provide advantages to the disadvantaged. But who are the “disadvantaged”?
In a meritocracy, which America has been since its founding, the Constitution provides opportunities for all American citizens, but does not bend over backwards to subsidize sloths or those convinced they are victims of society. Are Thomas Sowell and Shelby Steele victims?
Undermining the Constitution
Democrats, however, dislike the Constitution because it fosters individual freedom at the expense of tyrannical government. And at the core of individual freedom is capitalism, which celebrates private ownership, private initiative, and privacy over control by the state.
In short, Dems realized they had to undermine advantages to the individual spelled out in the Constitution–freedom of speech, freedom of religion, the right to bear arms, the essential importance of citizens’ right to vote–in order to sell government knows best, or, at least, better than the Constitution.
FDR Set the Role for Government Succor
Dems realized, perhaps during the Great Depression, under FDR, that capitalism could come crashing down on too many people, if the economy had no safeguards provided by government. So the government created legislation to insure people’s savings and give them confidence that the money they had earned would be protected from banks closing down.
Still, people needed jobs during the Depression, and FDR decided the way out of joblessness was for government to provide work. Thus, the president created an alphabet soup of agencies—bureaucracies—to employ Americans out of work. Hence, the advent of the WPA, which employed writers, artists, and actors in various make-work projects; the AAA (Agriculture Adjustment Act), which provided subsidies to farmers; CCC (Civil Conservation Corps), which provided employment to young men in a variety of manual labor jobs; PWA (Public Works Administration), which employed workers in building infrastructure, such as roads and bridges. These are just a few of many bureaucracies created by FDR, who was, frankly, at a loss to understand that the American economy was built on the virtues of capitalism, not socialism. He didn’t seem to understand that America needed jobs in the private sector, not an increase in the public sector.
Consequently, FDR never did solve the issue of how to get the American economy back on its feet during the Depression. It wasn’t until America entered WWII that American manufacturing began to run at full speed, employing women—”Rosie the Riveter” is an example—during the war, while men were employed fighting for their country in the Armed Forces.
After the war, the American economy was able to run on its own, building new homes, manufacturing automobiles and other products for the new homes, while a growing population spread its wings throughout the country.
Government Takes Over the Private Sector
What Democrats, however, learned from the Depression was that for government to grow stronger, it had to provide jobs and compete with the private sector for employment. Moreover, politicians eventually came to realize they had to inculcate the American people on the “virtues” of government. Why? So people–even with PhD’s–would appreciate how “helpful” government was, even to the point of running their lives.
For example, is climate change the number one enemy of America? Government thinks so. That’s why the Biden Administration is forcing–yes, forcing–people to drive electric cars. Do you want to buy an electric car? Doesn’t matter. You will have to, because the government says we must elemminate carbon dioxide from the air by a certain date.
To make that happen, government is prepared to subsidize all car manufacturers, and purchasers of electric cars, and charging stations. Did government subsidize the purchase of your gas-powered Chevy? Did government tell GM and Ford what kinds of gas-powered cars to manufacture? Did government subsidize gas stations?
What will happen to the gas-powered car you just bought? Will you be able to buy gas for it? And what will gas cost? $12 a gallon? Is this what you want? Or is this what government tells you you better want, because Big Brother says it’s coming.
Another Shovel-Ready Jobs Bill? Is This a Joke?
Consider the new, so-called “infrastructure” legislation that seventeen Republican senators support and claim is bipartisan. When was the last time seventeen Democrat senators voted for bipartisan Republican legislation?
The real core of this bill is that only a small percentage–about 5 to 7 percent–is allotted for infrastructure. Most of the bill has to do with government taking over the energy sector by giving subsidies to corporations and bypassing state laws. If you think the Federal government has that right, you must be bipartisan or just plain stupid. Not to mention how the bill also helps deep-six the deficit by spending trillions of dollars that will never be paid for. And if you think there will be a lot of shovel-ready jobs, remember Obama’s shovel-ready jobs that just spread tax dollars to unions and built nothing.
Law & Order Has Been Replaced by Legal Lawlessness
The Biden Administration, overtly run by an incoherent Biden, is covertly run by the progressive wing of the Democrat Party, which has infected states run by progressive politicians with policies that defy law and order and even common sense. Defunding the Police is a perfect example.
Dems are also turning cities like NYC and San Francisco over to criminals, who now have a legal license to steal up to $1,000 without penalty. In fact, a thief can now rob a store of $999, without penalty, then steal another $999, and still be free from incarceration. Apparently, Democrats believe small-time thieves have a right to steal from the “rich” because they are “disadvantaged.”
Dems have convinced themselves there should be a legal justification for lawlessness.
How Many BLM & Antifa Terrorists Have Been Punished?
To illustrate how corrupt and mindless Democrat practices really are, consider the rampant lawlessness committed by BLM and Antifa over the summer of 2020. Virtually nothing was done to criminalize the perpetuators of multiple crimes—arson, robbery, destruction of private property, even outright murder—unless it was committed against a black person.
Furthermore, BLM, which has been promoted by progressives and their echo chamber in the media as some sort of do-gooder organization, is, in fact, headed by Marxists. Antifa is nothing but a bunch of thugs, paid by anti-democracy billionaires like George Soros, to generate havoc, disruption, and fear.
Biden’s Blatant Hypocrisy
Biden’s hypocrisies know no bounds. On the one hand, he keeps urging all Americans to become vaccinated against Covid-19; in fact, he now threatens to have the government go house to house to make sure everyone is vaccinated. At the same time, his open border policies are letting in thousands and thousands of foreigners, who legally have no right to enter the country, and many of them are bringing the virus—including the new Delta strain– with them.
Last, but not least, Biden’s anti-American policies include teaching Critical Race Theory in public and private education. CRT pits one race against another– teaches whites they are all racists and that the country was founded by racists. The NEA troops will teach CRT, whether you like it or not. It’s up to your school board or state legislators to stop them.
Dems hate individual freedom. For those who love this country, this is a tipping point. The only way to stop the rollover of progressivism or “wokeism”—whatever that means—is to stand up to leftwing politicians in your district, county, state, and Washington: Let them know you’re mad as hell and won’t take it anymore!
